Daniel Student is a strategic thinker with over a decade of product innovation, creative team building and disruptive intrapreneurship as a business leader in the not-for-profit arts.
He is currently pursuing his MBA in Organizational Behavior at UC Davis, from which he wants to build a career cultivating improved corporate communication and human management by fully utilizing and merging his experience running a community focused small business and directing productions for the stage.
He worked in the professional theater in Philadelphia for ten years, where he directed over 30 productions, and was lauded for "rapidly proving himself a young director of range and vision" by the Philadelphia Inquirer. He also ran a theater company named Plays & Players, for which, after being named the youngest board member, he led a five year strategic planning process resulting in him being named executive director.
In his four years at helm, he more than doubled the operating budget, raised foundational giving by 500%, and implemented updates to website, email communication and social media as well as bolstering community partnerships and implementing artistic residencies for local actors and playwrights.
Upon moving to Los Angeles, he directed the 2017 theatrical production, YOU, which charged a nation-wide record of $5000 per ticket to a nightly audience of just one person, and was given feature coverage in Newsweek and LA Weekly.
From these experiences, Daniel realized his potential to make broader global impact building off of his experience working on a community level helping people with their communication, leadership, and creativity.
